Sanischare

SANISCHARE

This place is very old which is more than 100 years old . About 50 years ago there were rice mills which made many people come and live here and do their works many people were farmers and labourers and only few peoples had job, like shops, office etc and the population was too low as compared now. But still this place was a trade hub for northern hilly areas like Ilam Panchthar and Taplejung and the Terai of those times were very populated after Bhadrapur and Damak.

The big weekly trade market would be on Saturdays, but now recently were people from different places come here to buy and sell their products and the market was to be very crowded. But now many traders has migrated to nearby Birtamod town and when east west Mahindra Highway was built along this route a small town Birtamod was settled which made declination of trade done in Sanischare and is less popular now, now government has declared Sanischare as Shani Arjun municipality. In which famous temple Arjundhara resides it is situated at west of sanischare bazaar.

How to get here:
Bus journey of around 12-14 hrs from Kathmandu to Birtamod or Sanischare.
Around 45 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur Jhapa and around 30 minutes from Bhadrapur to here using taxis.
